At James Madison Memorial High, FMPS funded a grant to provide a safe and productive learning environment and venue for Memorial students to come together to share ideas and create music. The JMM Music Collective grant assists students in forming musical groups, provides a supportive space for students to practice, and offers instruction on performing, marketing, and promotion. Memorial faculty members supervise practices and work with students to coordinate performances throughout the school year. Through this partnership between students and faculty, the project will address the need for students to gain essential vocational skills like productive communication, organization, and teamwork. By advocating musical expression, the collective hopes to encourage students to get involved with their school community in a positive manner.
